Our restaurant's feature is not only the cuisine but also the garden. Please enjoy Tofu and Kyoto Japanese cuisine with the view of garden which was made by Jihei Ogawa.
Yachiyo started as a fish shop in Azuchi Momoyama era as a shop which was allowed to enter Imperial palace in Azuchi Momoyama era. We have been long-established store since the Hideyoshi Toyotomi's era. We have continued our business as traditional Japanese inn and Japanese restaurant near Nanzenji temple which has connection with Akinari Ueda and Jihei Ogawa.

You can enjoy seasonal Kyoto cuisine and yudofu (tofu in hotpot) with Seiryu garden view that landscape is made from Higashiyama. Our restaurant has ambience where you can enjoy both Kyoto cuisine and garden which was made by the gardener Ueji. We have several kinds of seats ①Tables and chairs seats which face to the approach to Nanzenji temple ②Horigotatsu seats which means tatami mats where you can rekax your legs based on the image of Kabuki seats ③Zashiki seats -with lightened up Seiryu teien garden-

The garden in our restaurant is made by Jihei Ogawa who made the gardens in Heian Jingu Shrine, Murinan, and Maruyama park. The garden has beautiful view from nature and a lot of water comes from Lake Biwa Canal and flowers express four seasons. You can feel peaceful atmosphere when you look at the garden. Most of the gardens made by Ueji is private gardens around Nanzenji temple such as Tairyu sanso, Nomurahekiunso, Hosokawabettei, or Seiryutei teien.
Our specialty -Yudofu (Tofu in hot pot)-
We are keen on tofu from Kyoto and tofu sauce. Water from underground is vital to make tasty tofu. Tofu is made only for one day using water from small well as it was long time ago. Handmade is the essence of tasty tofu. Water is also vital to make tofu sauce. We make tofu sauce and kelp from Rishiri broth only for our restaurant everyday.
Kyoto cuisine -the four seasons-
Since the sense of the four seasons is very important for Kyoto cuisine. We use seasonal ingredients, potteries, chinaware, and lacquer ware to express the sense of four seasons. The menu is prepared based on Japanese traditional events such as the Boys' Festival and so on.
